Welcome to Salty Wave Stories, I specialize in creating visual presentations for scientists, labs, wildlife zoos, non-profit organisations, institutes, museums, and universities.
In September, Salty Wave now has a new logo - the seahorse - a sea creature that has inspired the imagination and fascinated scientists for centuries. I explore the phenomenon of flying cars and the different models being developed. You really know how much you need your Labtop when it goes MIA; and Rocky talks about his fun sniffari adventures!

Recently, I designed a new logo for my business, based on my illustration of a seahorse. I enjoy drawing and when I was flipping through my sketches for logo inspiration, I found this seahorse sketch. I adapted the original drawing to a digital version through Adobe Illustrator. I’m fascinated by these sea creatures, especially their striking morphologies, behaviour and where they like to hang out - coral reef, sea grass, sponge and seaweed habitats.
A bit of interesting information about Seahorses:
Seahorses belong to Genus Hippocampus, a name based on the Ancient Greek word - hippókampos (ἱππόκαμπος) - translates to horse (hippos) and sea monster (kampos).
In ancient mythology, the Hippokampos were described as being part horse and part fish.
The word ‘Hippocampus’ represents part of the brain that consolidates information humans learn, from short term to long term memory; and it’s involved in spatial memory, helping us navigate through the environment. The hippocampus is found in all vertebrates.
